Live, interactive cremation certification training. In addition to the ICCFA Operator Certification, Pierce Mortuary Colleges also provides students with the opportunity to receive an ICCFA Cremation Arranger Certificate. All students attend at different times within the program. Pierce Mortuary Colleges provides several certifications, at no cost to the student.Certification programs are a great way to learn more about a specific funeral service skill set that, in turn, can enhance your résumé by making you more competitive and increase your eligibility for more opportunities.

This training is focused on the specific skills required for serving the cremation family from the beginning of the relationship until the end. It will focus on awareness for funeral professionals in dealing with the unique needs, expectations and misconceptions that families choosing cremation present in all aspects of arrangement and service. You will be given tools for effectively and confidently becoming a professional guiding presence for the cremation family, how to articulate value and service options, how to avoid legal issues, and how to create meaningful ceremonies. CREMATORY OPERATOR / Thursday, December 12 / 9:00 – 5:00 pm CST
Learn how to operate a crematory retort properly and effectively and limit the liability for you and your com¬pany. This extensive training curriculum includes an explanation of professional & incinerator terminology; a discussion on the principles of combustion and incinerator criteria & design; an in-depth look at the basics of operating cremation equipment and their general maintenance and how to troubleshoot common problems; an overview of cremation and its impact on the environment; examples of standard crematory forms and the importance of record-keeping; proper steps for identification; exposure control, and liability concerns and risk management.
