Aaron Rowbury

Faculty Member

Aaron Rowbury began teaching with Pierce Mortuary Colleges in 2025. Originally from a small farming community in Southeast Idaho, he has worked in the funeral industry for more than ten years. He earned an Associate’s degree in Mortuary Science from Salt Lake Community College in 2016 and became a licensed funeral director and embalmer in 2017 after completing his apprenticeship in Davis County, Utah.

In 2019, Aaron returned to Southeast Idaho to accept a position with a local funeral home, eventually becoming a location manager overseeing operations and staff at two separate locations. During this time, he developed a structured, four-stage training curriculum for the funeral home’s apprentices, guiding them to become confident, independent funeral directors and embalmers. That experience sparked his passion for education and mentoring within the profession.

In 2023, Aaron joined the University of Tennessee in Memphis, where he oversees the whole-body donation program. In this role, he prepares and oversees cadavers for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, supporting the training of future physicians, dentists, physical therapists, and other graduate-level health professionals.

In addition to his mortuary science degree, Aaron holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Utah State University and a Master’s degree in Strategic Communication from the University of Tennessee. He is excited to serve as an adjunct instructor with Pierce while continuing his full-time work in the death care profession.
